As soon as the sun sets over Bali, this western coast of Indonesia is immediately transformed into a dynamic party town. From impressive locations, live DJ’s, flurry of cocktails and diversity of party hoppers, Bali is ‘the’ place to be for a wild night out. The three most prominent districts of Kuta, Legian and Seminyak are at their liveliest after sunset as people start moving from the beach to the clubs in Bali.
For first time visitors, here’s a list of some of Bali’s most happening night entertainment spots.
Table of Content
JI. Legian No.61 ( open till 5am)
A part of the Legian’s popular pub street, Sky Garden has multiple clubs in the complex, with the Sky Dome being the all time crowd favourite. My personal favourite is the hip hop room where you can even dance on the stage or do a pole – dance. Well, trust me after you down a couple of drinks – that’s where you will be at. Skygarden also has an amazing all incl BBQ buffet every evening for just IDR 55,000 which includes beer (if you arrive early) and more free cocktails if you head to the international dance room next.
I found this place after stumbling on Harvie’s blog post talking about Sky Garden and in my opinion is the best place to visit in Bali.
Old man’s pub
Beer Garden Batu Bolong Beach, Canggu (Open till 12am)
This hip beer garden in Canggu, is strategically located on the Batu Bolong Beach. A perfect place to chill out with friends on benches and beanbags spread out on their sprawling lawns. Old man’s is the ‘go-to’ place for all surfers so if you are looking for decent conversations or simply some eye candy – you know where to go!
Restaurant Jalan Petitenget, No 51B (Open till 2am)
One of the fastest growing place in popularity in Seminyak, Potato Head rubs shoulders with many of the world class hotspots that make up for this cosmopolitan night haunt. The main structure looks like a stadium with the guests getting to feel like gladiators around a pool. You can take a dip in the pool or watch the waves from your table. It has one of the most romantic settings I have ever seen and I would rate it as the top lounge bar in Bali for couples.
Ku de ta
Restaurant JI. Kayu Aya No.9, Seminayak (Open till 2am)
Considered as a trendsetter in the nightlife scene of Bali, this upscale dining and night spot has one of the most unique layout, with a separate private loft for special customers. Home to Mejekwai which offers exquisite local cuisine. Ku de ta is popular for its music scene and DJ’s which play deep house and electronic beats to their loyal followers. Seminyak also happens to be one of my top spots for living in Bali.
Restaurant Jalan Laksamana,Oboroi, No.177X, Seminayak (Open till 3am)
This bar and restaurant in Bali, introduces customers to a unique dining experience, mainly because of its quirky design inspired from the urban areas of Rio. When I first went to La favella to see what the ‘fuss’ was all about, the decor immediately caught my attention. As the night progresses it changes from a great place to eat, to a thriving part spot. Very popular with tourists and expats, it draws locals as well for the ‘bule’ factor.
Cocoon beach club
Restaurant Jalan Arjuna No.66 ( Open till 3am)
Cocoon Beach Club attracts its guests with a scenic pool surrounded by white sun loungers. Located by Jalan Double Six, the famous beachfront known for its nightlife and hangouts, the club offers a heady mix of Asian and Mediterranean cuisine to match the enthralling sun sets. This is a popular gay bar in Bali and attracts a stylish entertaining crowd. The thumping beats flow from the pool to the streets, attracting curious onlookers constantly.
Lounge Kabupaten Badung, Bali (Open till 6am)
Situated conveniently between Kuta and Legian, the Pyramid Club has an impressive number of resident and international DJ’s on it’s list. It’s one of those popular ‘after-party’ places as it is open till wee hours of the morning.
Night club Kabupaten Bandung, Bali (Open till 11pm)
This groovy hot spot of the island takes inspiration from the underground clubbing scene complete with vivid lasers and thumping music beats.
Mirror Bali Lounge and Club
Jalan C (open till 4am)
Laser lights on the towering roofs makes this Gothic Cathedral type interior lounge an impressive place to dance your blues away till the early morning hours.
Legian (open till 4am)
One of the most legendary meeting place in Bali, well known for the wet and wild parties it hosts. A premier party place, Bounty must be visited at least once. Surely the music is very predictable as they churn out popular dance numbers. However, its a great pre-party place to drink some cheap beer and get grooving on their ‘stage’.
Nightclub Jalan C (open till 4am)
A three storey nightclub, mostly for the young crowds of downtown Legian, Engine room should be one of your stops on the ‘legian pub crawl’. Close to the other popular clubs like, Sky Garden, Bounty and Vi Ai Pi, it is a good option to enjoy some pop music and get the party started.
